' The Judging '
Dog shows should be FUN for all parties?... involved!
It should mean Shows getting high entries. Dog judges that get to travel and be able to judge the breed(s) in different countries they visit enjoying what they see and place dogs they see it, accordingly. Be the place for Exhibitors to meet the other Exhibitors as the perfect place and situation where they can show their dogs and also see the dogs of others and at the same time compete in each individual Class. Dog shows are also the ideal situation for visitors who can see the breed(s) or more than one specimen of the particular breed they are interested in at one spot and follow the judging as that is what it should be all about.
However, every once in a while above described process is hard to follow or even to understand what is going on in the ring as situations occur that are almost impossible to understand and makes you raise your eyebrows (to put it mildly) as that regretful seemed to be the case at the IHA GRAZ SHOW 2012.
Needless to say that judges do have there preferences by type, prefer and/or judge as individuals stricter depending on a dogs strong or weaker points as they see it and evaluate each dog accordingly before placing the dogs with qualifications to be given excellent, very good, good, very promising, promising or disqualify and place the dogs in accordance; 1st place, 2nd, 3rd and so on.
At the GRAZ show dogs got placed in order of these above qualifications and the Judge decided on her placements of each Class involved, no dogs where disqualified.
Judge for the breed: Mrs. Marija Kavcic, SLO

Why?... this POll.
Placements of dogs by Judges are to be respected; the judge has the right to pick the dog(s) they think is/are best and these decisions made in the ring are final.
Nevertheless; Exhibitors should not be afraid to respond to very odd, remarkable and /or (strange)- situations that happen during qualifications of (their) dogs at Shows. When convinced that there are things happening that cannot be explained by any rational reason(s) Exhibitors should stand their ground and act accordingly by filing an official complaint.
Its time that all FCI Countries Kennel Clubs follow the path of the British Kennel Club (KC) who's Disciplinary Sub- Committee not to long ago examined incidents that involved 2 Top All Round Judges that both for different reasons overstepped regulations of the KC rules as set in the ' Code of Best Practice for Judges '. These Judges have been banned for 1 year or even for 2 years and disqualified taking a part in, attending and/or having any connection with any event licensed by the KC and also disqualified for judging during such a period as well been warned for their future conduct. Besides the excluding, KC ordered (these judges) to pay fines of £ 300.00 and £ 500.00 and in one case even imposed to pay for costs incurred by his actions.
Can only hope show committee's as well the FCI Countries Kennel Clubs will pursue and follow up on and investigate whether complaints are legitimate and act imposing penalties as KC has done and hopefully will continue to be doing when the circumstances demand that actions are acquired and to be umdertaken.
